Significant reduction in prize money for singles champions and finalists (and semifinalists as well) at Indian Wells and Miami this year. Qualifying and early rounds prize money, on the other hand, are increased, particularly at IW.
The Prize Money and Points Breakdown has been confirmed ahead of the 2024 BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells which will take place between March 4-17, 2024 in California and starts off the Sunshine Double in earnest which also features the Miami Open.
There will be a record total of $19m on offer overall this year, but there will be 10% less for singles champions, finalists and semi-finalists as well. Compared to last year, the equal prize money ATP and WTA Tournament will see $1,100,000 for the winner. $585,000 for the finalist and for the semi-finalists, it will be $325,000. The rounds below all will increase with it being more evenly spread.
This means a drastic improvement for those losing in the first and second round as well as qualifying. The winners who will return to defend their title will be Carlos Alcaraz and Elena Rybakina respectively. It is both an ATP and WTA 1000 tournament and will be the next main action after the Australian Open.
