Alex De Minaur will begin his campaign as number one seed at the Next Gen ATP Finals when he takes on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in Milan.

De Minaur reached the final last year and since then has claimed three ATP Tour titles and cracked the Top 20 of the ATP Rankings for the first time.
His opponent though first could be a tricky customer having claimed two ATP Challenger Tour crowns in the past two months and so despite the Aussie ace’s obvious pedigree he can’t be taking his opponent lightly.
Caspur Ruud and Miomir Kecmanovic kick off proceedings in a hotly anticipated game and the latter has their only previous Head2Head win in Zhuhai after Ruud had to retire.
Ruud hasn't played brilliantly on hard courts this year with clay being his preferred surface and this may hold the key between the duo.
Potentially the tie of the the day though sees Jannik Sinner facing off against Frances Tiafoe in Group B action. Twelve months ago, Sinner watched the tournament from the stands and now he is playing in it and mixing it with the best.
He defeated Tiafoe three weeks ago in Antwerp which means he firmly believes he has the key to defeat the American.
Finally Mikael Ymer and Ugo Humbert will face off having both played well on the hard courts in the past few weeks. The latter reached the semi-finals in Antwerp while Ymer claimed two back-to-back Challenger Tour titles so both come into it with a degree of form.
