World No.1 Ashleigh Barty continues to display her versatility outside of tennis, as the 2019 French Open champion added new silverware to her trophy cabinet.

The Australian had decided to end her tennis season early, citing COVID-19 concerns. However, she participated in the Brookwater women's Golf Club championship, which culminated with her claiming the trophy on Sunday. Barty seems to be following the footsteps of her father Robert, who once represented Australia as an amateur golfer. Nonetheless, she seems to remain modest regarding her latest achievement.
"It's not a big deal," she told the Australian Associated Press after the event.
Barty is apparently quite adept at the sport, as she has even earned praise from Golf legend Tiger Woods. During a promotional event last December ahead of the Presidents Cup, she surprised Woods after hitting wedge to a makeshift green on the Yarra River. After that shot Woods commented, "she’s got a great swing, are you kidding me?"
Apart from dominating the world of tennis, Barty also played professional cricket between 2014 and 2015 during a break from tennis. She played in the Women’s Big Bash League, and enjoyed stints with the Brisbane Heat and Queensland Fire cricket teams.
