Murray returns to French Open after 3 and half years

It's been exactly 3 and a half years since Andy Murray last played at the French Open as he announced his happiness of being back on the red clay.

Andy Murray's last match at the French Open was an epic affair against Stan Wawrinka where Stan won after a long 5 set battle. Now three and half years later Murray found himself back again on the court where he last played. When Andy Murray last played at the French Open he was one of the best tennis players in the world but a brutal match against Stan Wawrinka changed his life forever.

After the match, his hip issues started which nearly destroyed his career. Now many years and operations later he is back to playing regular tennis at a level which is far from what we are accustomed to but he is still doing what he loves and it gives him joy despite the lack of results. He remembered that match with an Instagram post:

"Been a long journey to get back on Court Philipe Chatrier. 3 and half years since I played Stan Wawrinka in a brutal 5 set semi final which turned out to be the end of my hip. It was a pleasure to be back Roland Garros and a huge thank you to the French Tennis Federation for giving me the opportunity to play here again"
