Bencic, Thiem with victories at local tournaments

Dominic Thiem and Belinda Bencic are preparing for the ATP & WTA Tour resumption at the local tournaments.

Both Thiem and Bencic already competed at a couple of tournaments during the Tour suspension. The 26-years-old Austrian started his campaign at the Austrian Pro Series already three weeks ago with 6 victories. Then, Thiem lost to no. 163 Sebastian Ofner before he moved to Belgrade where he played the Adria Tour.
'Domi' triumphed at the tournament organized by Novak Djokovic and returned back to Austria. There, he played another 2 matches of the Austrian Pro Series. First, he defeated Alexander Erler 3-6, 6-2, 6-2. And then, Thiem outplayed also Lukas Neumayer 6-1, 6-4. World number 3 should now move to France where he will compete at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) during the weekend in Mouratoglou Tennis Academy.
Belinda Bencic also already played a few competitive matches. The Swiss with Slovak roots helped TK Slovan Bratislava to win the title in Slovak Extraliga with victories in singles and doubles. Now, Bencic joined another Slovak tournament, Bratislava Open.
14 Slovak players compete at the tournament alongside Russian no. 5 Anna Blinkova and world number 8, Belinda Bencic. In the first round of the competition, Bencic faced Yvonna Zuffova and dominated the match with almost flawless performance. The 23-years-old Swiss player triumphed 6-0, 6-1 to move to the quarterfinals of the event.
