With the end of the Australian Open, Jannik Sinner was honoured in Turin, Italy, for his new Grand Slam title. In a new Daily Dose of Social Media, we revisit some of the moments that marked the day among ATP and WTA stars.

Venus Williams made a comeback at a Christian Dior event during Paris Fashion Week, while some stars from the WTA 250 Linz Open showed off their dance moves in a fun video from the tournament. Meanwhile, Kei Nishikori is preparing for his Davis Cup appearance, while Sam Querrey humorously revisited highlights with Andy Murray.

Venus Williams wows at Christian Dior Couture Show

Venus Williams shared some photos from her visit to the Christian Dior Couture Show during Paris Fashion Week. The former world No. 1 attended the fashion event in a black outfit and platform heels, marking a new appearance as a fashion icon. The 7-time Grand Slam champion rubbed shoulders with famous stars like Jisoo from Blackpink, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Jenna Ortega.

Williams, 44-years-old remains an active player, despite not participating in any matches in the last 10 months since her appearance at the 2024 Indian Wells, where she lost in the first round to Japan's Nao Hibino. The older of the Williams sisters last triumphed at the 2023 Cincinnati Open when she defeated 16th seed Veronika Kudermetova. Venus has not indicated when her next appearance in the WTA Tour will be but has announced that she has no intentions of retiring yet.

Sinner's best moments reel

Tennis TV shared a video compiling some of Jannik Sinner's best moments from recent years, including highlights from his awards ceremonies, training coordination exercises in Australia, and some of his quotes that have made fans laugh. Sinner remains in impeccable form, just like in 2024, after winning his third Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.

The world No. 1 Italian defeated Alexander Zverev in the final 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-3, extending his winning streak to 21 consecutive victories, his longest streak to date, surpassing the 19 wins he had between the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024. Sinner was set to play at the Rotterdam Open but has recently pulled out for rest. He will next appear at the ATP 500 Doha Open starting February 17th.

Jannik Sinner's monumental tribute in Italy

Sinner received a unique tribute in Italy after his victory at the Aussie Open. “La Mole Antonelliana,” an important monument in the city of Turin, projected a photo of the world No. 1 on its facade with the message “Champion.” Jannik Sinner is no stranger to success in Turin, where he won the ATP Finals in 2024 after defeating Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4 in the final, which was his last individual trophy of the past season.

Linz Open gets started with players' sance moves

After the Australian Open, WTA stars return to their commitments on the Tour, with one of the first tournaments being the WTA 250 Upper Austria Linz Open. A video shared by the official tournament account on social media shows some players showing off their best dance moves ahead of the tournament's start, including Anastasia Potapova, Ekaterina Alexandrova, and Maria Sakkari.

The tournament began this Monday in the Round of 32, although the four top seeds are waiting for their debut in the second round after receiving a bye. Karolina Muchova (No. 19), Elina Svitolina (No. 24), Maria Sakkari (No. 31), and Ekaterina Alexandrova (No. 30) are the top favorites for the title, with recent Melbourne surprise Eva Lys (No. 91) and the inspired Clara Tauson (No. 39) also in the mix.

Sam Querrey jokes as reviews his 2017 Australian Open clash against Andy Murray

Sam Querrey joked while reviewing an old Australian Open match against three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray. The former World No. 11, who retired nearly two years ago, faced Murray in Melbourne in 2017.

“I am playing Andy Murray in the third round. Look at that volley from me!” Querrey commented while watching the highlights of the match. “I came out early, by 2-2 I’m hitting volleys like that? Kinda early on, I’m thinking to myself, ‘hey, maybe I’m gonna win? But you know what, couldn’t have been more wrong,” he added.

Murray won comfortably 6-4, 6-2, 6-4, knocking the American out of the tournament. Unfortunately for the Brit, that was his last win before being eliminated in the fourth round by Mischa Zverev – the older brother of ‘Sascha’, who was a recent Australian Open finalist. Check out the highlights of the match between Querrey and Murray, with the rivalry ending 8-2 in favor of the former World No. 1.

Nishikori ramps up preparations for Japan's Davis Cup clash

Kei Nishikori doesn't take a break after his exit from the Australian Open and shared a video of his training ahead of Japan's Davis Cup tie against Great Britain. The 35-year-old player is set to play as the second singles player for the Asian team in a highly open series, considering the absence of British No. 1 Jack Draper, who withdrew from the tournament a few weeks ago.

The former world No. 4 is likely to play as the second singles player, meaning he will face Billy Harris (No. 127). In the second match, world No. 65 Yoshito Nishioka is expected to play against Jacob Fearnley (No. 92). The tie will take place in the city of Miiki, Japan, on an indoor hard court. The winner will secure a spot in the second round, which will take place in September, where seven teams will advance to the Final 8 (Italy is guaranteed to host).
