Eugene
Bouchard identified with
Holger Rune's love for sleeping, which he confessed in
a press conference at the
French Open.
The young
Danish player had a smooth journey at
Roland Garros. He successfully passed the
first round of the tournament with a victory over world No. 74 Cristopher Eubanks.
He then advanced due to the withdrawal of Gaël Monfils and in the third round
defeated the Argentine qualifier and world No. 231 Genaro Olivieri.
Holger Rune
spoke in a press conference after his victory over Olivieri and talked about
his love for sleeping:
"I
sleep a lot. I love to sleep. I probably sleep around 9 to 13 hours if I can.
It's a lot. I really like it. I think it's the best recovery that you can have.
I actually think the muscles relax. Everything relaxes when you sleep," he
said.
Canadian
Eugene Bouchard joked about the comments of the world No. 6 regarding sleeping:
"Finally found someone as obsessed with
sleep as I am!" Bouchard wrote on Instagram.
Bouchard is
currently ranked 226th in the WTA rankings, and her last tournament match was
in the Florence Challenger on clay. Although she won her first two matches, she
had to withdraw in the quarterfinals while trailing 6-3, 1-0 against Italian
Sara Errani.
