With many people still under duress due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, the tennis community is reaching out to assist those in need.
Several WTA superstars have been involved with supporting their communities, with the likes of Simona Halep, Madison Keys and Qiang Wang making monetary donations for medical needs.
American Coco Gauff, who initiated a COVID-19 relief fundraiser on her 16th birthday is not done with her involvement. The teenager accepted the "All in Challenge", which is a virtual fundraiser where athletes and entertainers offer up items or experiences in an auction or giveaway. Any proceeds obtained go to different charities, including Feeding American and Meals On Wheels.
Gauff announced on Instagram that she would auction an hour of tennis lessons, which includes running through the American's favorite on-court drills. Furthermore, the winner will also be treated to lunch and go home with a signed tennis racket.
"I am very, very happy to be a part of this amazing cause to help raise money for frontline workers and families in need," Gauff told fans in the Instagram video.
2016 Olympic Gold Medalist Monica Puig joined other Puerto Rican celebrities in narrating an ode to her country's essential workers. The video also encouraged Puerto Ricans to listen to the authorities and stay home.
“I want to thank and recognize the work of everyone who is keeping us safe every day,” she added in a tweet.
2018 Wimbledon doubles champion Katerina Siniakova got involved, reminding people to look out for the elderly in their communities. She collected and donated supplies for a local nursing home in the Czech Republic.
Canadian player Sharon Fichman is also ensuring that the seniors in her community are tended to, as she joined an emergency program that supports low income seniors in Toronto during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Growing up in a household where soccer was king, my earliest memories are filled with chants from packed stadiums and the rhythm of a ball being passed across neighborhood streets. But somewhere along the way, the quiet elegance and raw emotion of tennis pulled me in. What began as a curiosity became a lifelong passion; not just for the sport itself, but for the stories it tells: of grit, of heartbreak, of improbable comebacks and human resilience.
As a tennis writer, I bring the observational lens of someone who didn’t grow up in the sport, but fell in love with it as an outsider; a perspective that lets me see both its technical beauty and its emotional depth. Over the years working with TennisUpToDate, I’ve had the privilege of reaching more than 3.5 million readers worldwide, with one of my features ranking among the site’s top three articles.
With a background in storytelling and a creative mind always searching for meaning beyond the scoreboard, I aim to craft narratives that go deeper than results and rankings. Whether it’s a rising star breaking through or a veteran fighting off Father Time, I try to capture the heartbeat behind the headlines.
