While recovering from an injury Simona Halep made a bold statement where she claimed no tennis player can beat her twice in a row.

There are several player's in the tennis world who have beaten Halep the last time they played against her. Those are Elina Svitolina, Karolina Pliskova and Garbine Muguruza. For now, as the tour is suspended we won't see matches for a while but the anticipation is still there.
Speaking to the Romanian Digi Sport she said:
"Like Darren says, a player can’t beat me twice in a row. But, when I lose a match, I usually analyze what’s there to be done for the next one." said Simona Halep.
To back up her statement, Halep used Kaia Kanepi as an example. Simona lost to Kanepi in the first round of the 2018 US Open, but she managed to overcome the Estonian player in their next meeting, which took place in January 2019 during the Australian Open.
Recalling that matches she said:
"In America, the court is faster, but the ball doesn’t bounce too much as it happens in Melbourne. For example, when I played with Kanepi I didn’t understand too much. And, after that, I played in Australia".
She further continued:
"I can’t say that the conditions in America advantage me because it’s a louder atmosphere. The matches are played late and that is not really my style. The airport is also close. At Melbourne, it’s like you’re more isolated, you have more quietness."
She finally concluded with:
"I always liked being in Australia and the fact that I managed to adapt to the weather there advantaged me" said Simona Halep.
While it's a very good example and explanation Kanepi is not on the level that these players are. They will certainly embrace the challenge now. We will wait to see who will be right in the end.
