The 2026 edition of the BNP Paribas Open will take place from 4–17 March 2026 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, launching the Sunshine Double and marking the first combined ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event of the North American swing.
Both singles draws feature 96 players, with the top 32 seeds receiving first-round byes. The tournament awards 1000 ranking points to each champion and plays a major role in shaping the early-season Race standings before the tour moves to Miami.
On the ATP side, world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz headlines the field after capturing the 2026 Australian Open earlier this season. Jack Draper returns as defending Indian Wells champion following his breakthrough title run in 2025. Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner are also expected to feature prominently in one of the strongest Masters 1000 line-ups of the year.
In the WTA draw, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka leads the field, while Elena Rybakina arrives as the reigning Australian Open champion. Mirra Andreeva returns as defending Indian Wells champion after lifting the biggest title of her career here last season. Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff are also projected among the main contenders.
Indian Wells is known for its slower hard courts and high-bouncing conditions, often rewarding baseline consistency and physical endurance. The dry desert air and temperature shifts between day and night sessions frequently add a tactical layer across the two-week event.

From March 4 through March 9, daily live coverage of early-round singles action begins at 2:00 pm ET, preceded by “TC Live at the BNP Paribas Open” at 1:00 pm ET. Early rounds continue through the final match each evening.
Round of 16 and Quarterfinals (March 10–12)
Round of 16 matches begin March 10 at 2:00 pm ET, alongside doubles action. Quarterfinal coverage follows on March 12 starting at 2:00 pm ET, with extended evening windows on Tennis Channel 2.
Championship Weekend (March 13–15)
Semifinals are scheduled for Friday, March 13, with WTA singles semifinals featured in the evening session.

However, a very brief look at the other members of the panel would suggest a very USA heavy contingent. The group needs to represent all interests, not just turn it into a way the US can screw more money out of an already biased calendar.
- The tennis world should be kissing her feet for taking-on this long needed position in a much needed council. The WTA and ATP need a good shaking-up. Pegula's business heritage is a proven one. Let's hope she and her colleagues can stop WTA & ATP from shutting their work down and out. GO GET 'EM !!

- The poor Head Sportswasher has been whining and crying in the media, and basically threatening Saba, Iga, etc. Must be a real Ego Buster when they dangle money and people (especially Women) say, 'No thanks'.
