John Isner hasn’t had the best start to the year having three defeats at the ATP Cup, a second round in Auckland and a third round at Australian Open.
Isner will head into the
Miami Open after reaching the final last time out losing to Roger Federer.
On International Women’s Day, the American reflected on the effect not only his mother but also his wife on his life paying tribute to the duo.
“If I could talk about two, I would say my mother and my wife. My mother has been a huge inspiration to me. She had a battle with cancer that she was able to fight through. I saw how tough it was for her to go through those times. But she persevered, and she’s in remission now,” said Isner.
“And my beautiful wife, Maddie, the mother of my two kids, 13 months apart, so she’s been an absolute rockstar, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Those are the two people that I lean on most in my life,” he added.
