After Marion Bartoli spoke about prize money distribution for doubles players, many expressed their strong disapproval with her idea.

Men's 2020 Australian Open champion, Novak Djokovic received more than A$4 million for his triumph. On the other hand, Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury, men's doubles champions, shared A$760,000. Per person, doubles champion made one-tenth of what singles champion earned for winning a Grand Slam title.
Now, 2013 Wimbledon champion, Marion Bartoli said, that doubles players should receive less many which should be then given to players who play qualifications in the singles tournaments. As doubles players feel offended by these claims, they replied to Bartoli in couple of tweets.
"M. Bartoli thinks we shouldn’t play doubles and give money to singles Q & challengers bc we can afford to have 6 people in our team. We’ve only recently added a traveling coach bc we could never afford it. Also, we practice 5-6 hours a day. Guess that’s not enough for her. I completely agree with her that there is a problem with prize money distribution towards the lower rankings. In my opinion however, this is not the way to change that," Vliegen wrote.
Also Nicolas Mahut supported the Belgian when he wrote: "I'm jealous! I thought I had a large staff, can you introduce me to the double player who travels with 6 people, please? If I follow your reasoning until the end concerning the concept of effort, you think then that women should not have the same prize money as men at Grand Slams because of playing less sets?!"
