Stefanos Tsitsipas

Following his victory against Evans, Tsitsipas was giving a press conference but he didn't expect his mother to crash it, but that's exactly what happened.

Recently Stefanos gave an interesting quote about his family and their support. While he is appreciative of their support he admitted that sometimes he tries not to listen too much of what they are saying. His mother who is a former tennis player caught wind of his remarks and decided to surprise her son at his next press conference after he defeated Bublik.
She entered the room and said:
"I’m following you to the press conference to make sure I'm aware of how you feel, what are your statements." I'm just wondering, I'm not sure you really know so much about..."
Stefanos looked quite surprised but he played it cool smiling during her words. He responded:
“Did she read the statements I said a few days ago? That's why she's here."
His mother decided to tease her son again saying:
"I don't spend so much time with you. This is my chance. What I want to ask you is, I'm not sure you are really so much aware of the number of these great tennis players followed by the parents."
He fired back: "Actually you're a journalist, right? True, verified." It was friendly banter by a son and his mother but some journalist had a few eyebrows raised. The exchange didn't end there, however. His mother was determined to get answers from her son.
"The question is, are you really aware of the number of the great tennis players that were helped and followed by the parents on the [ATP] Tour", she said. He responded by asking which top 5 players or grand slam winners can she name?
His mother gave him the classic "you can be the 1st one" responded to which he responded with "Okay, good."
It was a fascinating exchange that seemed like banter but probably had some truth to it as well. Luckily for us, it made a great story and that's all we need to know for now. Stay tuned for more!
