Andy Murray was a guest in a video conference call hosted by HRH the Duchess of Cambridge and in the call he admitted he is getting old for a tennis player.
While he eagerly awaits the resumption of the season
Andy Murray has been rather active through various charities and other events. This time he was a guest in a video conference call hosted by HRH the Duchess of Cambridge that featured pupils from a South London school. In the call he spoke about his career and admitted he was getting old as a tennis player:
"Missing the big competitions because I'm getting old for a tennis player, you never know how many opportunities you're going to have left to play the biggest competitions," he said.
It was clear in the manner and tone he spoke that he was deeply unsure about whether he will have many chances at a slam again but there was also hope as some time ago he was unsure whether he would ever play again. Speaking about the things he misses most during the pandemic he said:
"So missing
Wimbledon this week is obviously a shame. I miss travelling. That's one of the things that I really enjoyed doing over my career is seeing different parts of the world. Missing that and also missing seeing friends like everybody else."
When asked whether he saw his parents at all Murray said he hasn't seen them for months and he was really looking for it. Mother Judy Murray played a huge part in his life and tennis career and often accompanied him to events.
