To celebrate the opening of his new Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy in Kuwait the Spaniard played an exhibition match against David Ferrer
After
getting eliminated by Dominic Thiem in Australia Rafael Nadal visited Kuwait for the 1st time. He was there to attend a special occasion. A new Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy was constructed and needed to be opened. It's the most advanced tennis facility in that part of the World.
To celebrate the occasion he invited his good friend
David Ferrer for an exhibition match. It was a light match as Ferrer has been out of tennis since May last year. Ultimately and fittingly Rafael Nadal defeated his good friend 6-4 6-3 to the joys of many attending.
It is the 4th Rafael Nadal Tennis Center in the world and 3rd outside of his native Spain. The state of the art complex includes 18 courts, eight outdoor, eight indoor, an open court with 1,500 seats and covered arena with more than 5,000 seats.
In 2016 the first such complex was constructed in his hometown of Manacor. Later he helped build two more, once in Mexico and one in Greece.
Nadal is a committed ambassador of the game he loves and complexes like this promote the sport in the best way possible.
