Nick Kyrgios will play no part in his home Grand Slam in the latest high profile withdrawal from this year's
Australian Open with his recent knee injury which saw him pull out of both Adelaide tournaments wreaking havoc.
Kyrgios has a tear in his lateral meniscus and a cyst and will have arthroscopic surgery on his knee. This despite Kyrgios seemingly being ready to compete for most of this week.
It has included the Aussie playing with Novak Djokovic in a high profile practice match as he looked to take his place as one of the favourites in Melbourne.
But after the likes of Paula Badosa and Ajla Tomljanovic have recently withdrawn due to injury, Kyrgios becomes the latest big name. His time away from the court is unknown.
