Martina Navratilova gives her pick for leader in Djokovic-Nadal GOAT debate at end of 2023

Not on site this year at the Australian Open due to her cancer diagnosis, Martina Navratilova was welcomed back to Tennis Channel's coverage of the tournament via video link.

Among the topics, Navratilova discussed the so-called GOAT debate, a question often given to players and pundits alike between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

Giving her pick, Navratilova believes that Djokovic will end the year on top of the debate.

"The odds are with Novak Djokovic," Navratilova told Tennis Channel. "Chances are he'll win one, or two, maybe even three Majors this year."

"Rafa is an odds-on favorite at Roland Garros, but the rest of them, for me, Novak is the favorite in all the other three Majors," Navratilova stated. "So, somebody's got to beat him and make him pay the price, but right now, odds-on favorite in all those three."
