Casper Ruud has hit back after criticism was levied at a venue for the USA-Uzbekistan tie being held in Tashkent over this weekend which has since been won by the former.
Journalist Jose Morgado posted on Twitter calling it out. "Well, this venue is not what I expected for a qualifiers tie."
Only for Ruud to respond saying that not all countries have huge stadiums lying around vacant for this and also took aim at the ITF for giving smaller federations short notice in order to hold these tournaments.
"Not all countries have big stadiums just sitting and waiting all year round, plus it’s not easy to plan and host for a smaller federation when ITF gives you less than 2 months to organize it. Most big stadiums that could be used to play the tie is already booked to something else" Ruud tweeted.
