The Professional Tennis Players’ Association (PTPA), co-founded by Serbian tennis superstar Novak Djokovic, is preparing to tackle a lot of legal challenges that could reshape the way the sport is played.
The PTPA, whose main goal is to support and safeguard men's and women's professional tennis worldwide, has long argued that the average tennis player remains overworked and underpaid by the standards of global sport. With frustration building in the locker rooms over the annual calendar of events, it comes as no surprise that the PTPA is taking action in order to lessen the tedious schedule.

High-profile law firms are said to be involved

According to the PTPA's chief executives, multiple global law firms have been hired to carry out what is being referred to as “a full, top-to-bottom physical of the entire structure of tennis”.
A few top-ranked players have spoken out regarding the grueling schedule, with players having little time to recuperate between seasons. Former French Open finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas was the most vocal, taking to social media to post a now-deleted statement on the subject.
"The need for change is more urgent now than ever … The ATP and WTA calendars don’t give us a break … With leaders like Novak Djokovic stepping in, the push for a more player-friendly schedule is gaining traction," wrote Tsitsipas.
Prior to Tsitsipas' message, both Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz and British No.1 Jack Draper had each spoken out against the sport’s packed schedule, with Alcaraz saying “it’s going to kill us in some way”, and Draper labeling the status quo as “mental”.
