While some of the matches including Mirra Andreeva and Andy Murray got completed on Day One of the 2024
Indian Wells Open, the Night Session will have to return and be completed on Day Two after rain took hold at Tennis Paradise.
Paradise no more it seems as
Venus Williams and
Caroline Wozniacki were among those seeing their openers halted. Wozniacki in particular was a set up on Lin Zhu while Venus Williams had only played two games. She looked good to start off with, but kept going on and off before the decision was made late morning to cancel play for the day.
The initial Order of Play was confirmed during the delays for Day Two, with Naomi Osaka on Stadium 1 and Emma Raducanu on Stadium 2. But now it will have to be figured out how Venus and Wozniacki now figure on Day Two with an updated Order of Play likely shortly.
The weather forecast though is more clear on Day Two making a full day's play to finish Round One more certain. But for those wanting to see Venus Williams either in Europe or America, those hopes are dashed for tonight at least.
