Previously Emma Raducanu was confirmed to lead Great Britain's charge at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals next month in Glasgow with injury doubts priorly dispelled by Anne Keothavong, the captain saying that she really wanted to play.
But these injury doubts have meant that Raducanu has pulled out of the Billie Jean King Finals with her wrist injury not suitably recovered in time.
It's another blow for the former US Open champion who recently employed Jez Green who transformed Dominic Thiem and Andy Murray back towards their best and the hope will be that in time, the same can be said for Raducanu but for the moment, it is another disappointment.
This came as Great Britain were given the final spot and chosen to be hosts because of Raducanu despite already being eliminated but will now be lead by British No.1 Harriet Dart, Heather Watson and Katie Boulter.
