platform X — previously known as Twitter. "@frnadal are the 2024 Laureus
Sport for Good Award recipients. The inspirational programme truly believes in
the transformative power of sport. It helps over 1,000 vulnerable young people
in Spain and India & empowers them to realise their potential,” the post.
The award was received by the former world number one and the
founder of the foundation Nadal himself with his wife. The 37-year-old has
recently returned to action after a gap of nearly four months after suffering an
injury in the Brisbane International back in January 2024. The 22-time Grand
Slam winner recently took part in the Barcelona Open where his journey ended after
he lost in the round of 32 to Australia’s Alex de Minaur with a score of 7-5,
6-1. He is now set to take part in the Madrid Open where he will face America’s
Darwin Blanch in the round of 128.
