Serena Williams to play for US Fed Cup team after all

The American Fed Cup team who will play against Latvia was announced and Serena Williams was amongst them. The American superstar is currently in Melbourne preparing to tie Margaret Court for 24 Grand Slam titles this month. It won't be the first time Serena plays in the Fed Cup as she sporadically played since 1999. USA captain Kathy Rinaldi spoke to the media and said:

“We will be bringing an exciting team to Everett.” She would not elaborate further but the full team nomination must be submitted till 28th of January. It will be the first time since 2018 that Serena will play for the Fed Cup team as she currently holds a 13-0 singles record in the competition.

Joining her in the team so far are Madison Keys, Sofia Kenin and Alison Riske. The tie will be played at Everett's Angels of the Winds Arena on February 7th and 8th.
