Samantha Stosur has joined the club of mothers at the WTA by welcoming her newborn daughter with her partner Liz.
While many tennis players have had different ways of keeping busy during the ongoing pandemic Sam Stosur received the greatest gift a person can receive, she became a parent. Becoming a parent will certainly take care of some of the boredom left by the pandemic.
The former
US Open winner announced the happy news on her Instagram story. It read:
“Life in lockdown during coronavirus has been challenging in many ways but personally it’s been one of the most exciting and happy times of my life. On the 16th of June, my partner Liz gave birth to our beautiful little girl, Genevieve. It has been a whirlwind time but we could not imagine life without her now."
The post was a lengthy one in which she also said that the mother and the baby are both doing very well:
“Mum and Evie are doing well and it’s so amazing to be home with them both. We are absolutely in love with this little bundle and rolling with the happy chaos. We can’t wait for what’s to come and to watch little Evie grow up.... Although not too quickly we hope!”
We would like to congratulate Sam and her partner on welcoming their daughter and we wish them nothing but the best!
