Dominic Thiem spoke about the ill-fated Adria Tour saying that certain criticism was unnecessary and that all must learn from the event.
Dominic Thiem is currently in Berlin preparing for the
exhibition event that will be held during this week and he spoke to the German media. Naturally, they asked him about his participation at the
Adria Tour which left many player's positive to the virus. He said:
"We have to learn from the mistakes and be careful nowadays with this pandemic we are facing. That's what we have to take from the Adria Tour."
Thiem himself has tested negative several times and he already apologized for his participation at the event which was in fairness held to prematurely and with unfit protocols for this time. One of the most vocal critics of the event and players, in general, has been
Nick Kyrgios. He spoke many times about the selfish behavior of players particularly that of
Zverev.
Thiem defended Zverev on social media with him and Kyrgios trading a few insults in the process. Asked about that row Thiem once again fired back at Kyrgios by saying:
"The subject is done, Sascha had his reasons for not coming. Certain opinions, especially from Australia, are very unnecessary".
