Elina Svitolina hasn't had the best of runs lately but even so, she found time to give back to the tennis community and mentor some young girls in Monterrey.
Abierto GNP Seguros tournament in Monterrey is part of the WTA Futures Stars Camp. It's a program where tennis professional take time out of their schedule of mentor some local tennis prospects about what it means to be a tennis pro. This time around it was time for Elina Svitolina to play her part. She
hasn't had the greatest of runs lately but she is looking to
change that in Monterrey.
20 local young aspiring tennis females tennis players got invited to participate. They received on-court mentorship from the two-time grand slam semifinalist. Joining her were prominent WTA coaches Karim Perona(coach of Yafan) and Iain Hughes (coach of Potapova) and gave the girls a motivational talk.
Svitolina is set to play Govortsova later on and she will look to apply the advice she gave the earlier. That match is scheduled to be played tomorrow early in the morning hours (3:30 CET). We will have a recap for you fresh in the morning so be sure to check that out.
