Svitolina raises money for children's tennis with fundraiser, Halep and Townsend rally to support coaches programme and frontline workers

Elina Svitolina during her time off from tennis has been keeping busy and this has been shown with a new fundraiser started by the Ukranian.
Svitolina has her own foundation and will raise money for children's tennis through a partnership with Christie’s Bakery; to create a limited edition boxed set of themed cookies; that includes a postcard of Svitolina, signed by the player herself.
“The pandemic changed everyone's plans. My Foundation is no exception,” Svitolina said. “We had a number of measures planned that had to be canceled or postponed."
“In isolation, when the whole world stopped, I wanted to remind the fans about myself; appeal to the most socially responsible fans to support my Foundation and provide support to talented children," she added. "That's how the idea of Christie’s Bakery by Elina Svitolina was born.”

Simona Halep and Taylor Townsend have also been part of charity initiatives as of late; with the former being involved in the coaches programme; throwing in a racquet and signed Nike court outfit to her coach Darren Cahill's fundraiser.
Townsend partnered with Voss Water to bring more than 1000 bottles to frontline workers at Chicago's Mercy Hospital; as all three help vital causes at this time.

- Having spent weeks and weeks through the years on tour, I can say with confidence that Conchita was (is) one of the very few who realize the surprising level of maturity (and sometimes lack of) which Mirra seems to have developed in such a demanding adult world of Pro-Tennis. While at the same time reminding herself (Conchita, that is) that Mirra is still young and developing mentally and physically. The general public may forget at times, or not at all realize, these modern era young athletes do not have a 'normal' Youth. It's a major sacrifice, among countless sacrifices, these athletes must make.
