Nick Kyrgios has re-iterated his love for his girlfriend Costeen Hatzi as he shared a memory of the couple celebrating at the 2022 Australian Open.
Former Wimbledon runner-up Kyrgios made headlines in January 2022 at his home Slam when he paired up with Thanasi Kokkinakis. Despite facing disappointment in the singles, where he was defeated in the second round by Daniil Medvedev, Kyrgios went on to reach the final of the Australian Open men's doubles event.
Once there, they faced their compatriots Max Purcell and Matthew Ebden in an all-Australian final. Ultimately, Kyrgios and Kokkinakis ousted the latter pair in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4, to win the title.
After his win, a photo was taken of Kyrgios embracing his girlfriend as they celebrated together. The couple met online when the 28-year-old bought a mirror from Hatzi's social media account. They began dating in December 2021 and moved in together in Syndey in 2022.
On Saturday, September 16, Kyrgios shared the photo on his Instagram page as he recalled the memory, captioning the post with a speak-no-evil monkey emoji.
Hatzi commented on the post, writing:
"Great memories, I love you."
Hatzi has supported Kyrgios in the challenges of the sport, traveling with him to many tournaments. However, the Australian player has been forced to miss almost all of the 2023 season due to injuries.
He made a brief comeback at the BOSS Stuttgart Open in June but suffered a straight-sets defeat to Wu Yibing in the first round. He has now dropped out of the top 100 in the ATP Ranking, currently sitting at No. 192. Although it is unclear as to when exactly he will return, Kyrgios has said that he is hoping to make a big comeback, saying that he "still [has] some fire left."
