The Prize Money breakdown has been confirmed ahead of the 2024 Australian Open which will take place between Sunday 12 January, 2025 - Sunday 26 January 2025. There will be a record amount split over the main singles draws, qualifying singles, doubles men's and women's and mixed doubles.
This is an increase of 11.56% on the 2024 figures. The current defending champions in the men's and women's draws are Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka who will return to defend their titles at Melbourne Park at the traditional season opener in the Aussie Summer. Sinner famously took down Daniil Medvedev from two sets down last year.
He will aim to make it back-to-back. While Sabalenka who like Sinner has become World No.1 in the WTA will aim to make it three in a row. She has really made Melbourne her home in the last few years.
They will vie for $3,500,000 in prize money to the winner. Runner-Up will claim $1,900,000. While semi-finalists claim $1,100000. Quarter-finalists are set for $665,000.
Last 16 losers receive $420,000, while for reaching the Last 32, it is $290,000. Last 64 losers get $200,000, with first-round exits receiving $132,000.
The total for winning the title will increase over 11 per cent to $3.5m in 2025. While for reaching the final, it is $1.9m which is up from $1.725m in 2024. Also further down, those in qualifying also get a jump. Losing first round accrues $35,000 which last year was $31,250.
