"This is no longer falling on deaf ears" - Venus Williams issues statement on racial injustice in America

Although protests against systemic racism have decreased in the United States, the topic is still an issue of concern. American tennis player Venus Williams became the latest athlete to voice her displeasure on the matter.

With several players of color already speaking out on the matter, Williams lent her voice to the cause. In an Instagram post, the seven-time singles Grand Slam champion stated her disdain for police brutality and racism. She went on to explain that racism exists in various aspect of life, ranging from the workplace to schools.
However, Williams expressed hope in the fact that people were finally beginning to take notice, which could lead to change.
"This is no longer falling on deaf ears." Williams stated. "I'm amazed at the solidarity that has erupted across the USA."
The American ended her proclamation by pleading with the public to not let racism win. Furthermore, she included some reading material that would shed light on the plight of African-Americans in the United States.
