The schedule for the United Cup 2025 has been announced. The team-based competition will be played from December 27 to January 05 where some of the top players are set to participate to secure the ultimate prize.
The tournament will be played in two different cities, Perth and Sydney. Groups A (USA, Canada, Combined 2), C (Greece, Kazakhstan, Spain), and E (China, Germany, Brazil will play their fixtures in Perth. On the other hand, Groups B (Poland, Czechia, Norway), D (Italy, France, Switzerland), and F (Great Britain, Australia, Combined 1) will play their matches in Sydney.
The tournament holds a unique value in the tennis world as it remains the only team event where both men's and women’s tennis players participate together. Other team events, such as Davis Cup, Laver Cup and Billie Jean King Cup, feature men’s and women’s tennis separately. This will be the third edition of the mega-event. Team Germany will be defending their title. They lifted it last year after Poland in the final with a score of 2-1.
In the inaugural edition of the competition in 2023, it was the Team USA who came out on top against Italy in the final with a score of 4-0. Few players who will be the attraction of this year’s event will be women’s world number one Iga Swiatek who will be playing for Poland, world number three America’s Coco Gauff, men’s world number three Germany’s Alexander Zverev, world number six and two-time Grand Slam runner-up in 2024 Italy’s Jasmine Paolini, 2024 US Open runner-up America’s Taylor Fritz, 2024 US Open semifinalist Britain’s Jack Draper, two-time Grand Slam runner-up Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece, one-time Grand Slam winner and current women’s world number five Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, 2021 US Open runner-up in the women’s singles category Canada’s Leylah Fernandez, 2024 Australian Open runner-up China’s Zheng Qinwen and three-time Grand Slam runner-up Norway’s Casper Ruud.
