Stan Wawrinka has spoke recently about the return of tennis after the Coronavirus pandemic and admitted that he doesn't see it returning this year.

Wawrinka said that a lot of factors underline this and that despite anything being possible, even potential plans to host it behind closed doors would be fraught with problems.
“It’s hard to imagine that the tennis season will resume this year. Tennis is one of the most difficult sport activities to manage at the time of coronavirus. We will have to wait until frontier will be reopened and it will be possible to travel around the world again," said Wawrinka to L’Equipe.
"Tennis will be the final step on the way back to normality. For example Roland Garros is not organized by fifty people. Even when it is held behind closed doors, there are many people involved in the organization. Everything is possible, but it is likely that we will not return on the court this year."
Wawrinka also said about Roger Federer’s idea to merge the ATP and the WTA which has been supported by many and his compatriot supports this.
“The merger between the ATP and the WTA could be the right step for the world of tennis. When Federer gives his opinion, his voice is heard and things move faster," added Wawrinka.
