Wedding chapter complete: Boulter and De Minaur return to tennis after Italian celebrations

Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur have officially closed the wedding chapter and turned their attention back to tennis, returning to competition after several days of celebrations in Italy. The British-Australian couple first tied the knot in England before travelling to Tuscany for an extended celebration surrounded by family and close friends.
After enjoying a short break away from the tour, both players are now back preparing for the North American hard-court swing. De Minaur will enter the DC Open as the top seed in the men’s singles draw, while Boulter will compete only in the women’s doubles event, skipping singles but using the opportunity to gain valuable match practice ahead of a crucial part of the season.
The timing marks a transition between two very different moments of their summer. While Wimbledon represented an important part of the season on court, Boulter and De Minaur stepped away from tennis shortly afterwards to celebrate their marriage before restarting their campaigns.
The couple’s Italian celebrations took place in Tuscany, where they enjoyed several days of events combining traditional Italian food, music and time with their closest relatives. The second stage of their wedding allowed them to share the occasion with a larger group after the more intimate ceremony held in England.

Back to competition after Tuscany celebrations
With the celebrations now complete, both players have returned to their professional schedules ahead of the hard-court season in North America.
De Minaur will lead the way in singles, returning to action at the Mubadala Citi DC Open after reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon. The Australian entered the All England Club as the fifth seed but saw his run end against Flavio Cobolli, who defeated him in straight sets in the Round of 16.
The world No. 5 remains one of the most consistent players on the ATP Tour and will look to build momentum during the North American swing, with the US Open approaching later in the summer. In Washington, De Minaur will return as the defending champion after defeating Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in last year’s final, saving match points in a dramatic contest that slipped away from the Spaniard.

Boulter, meanwhile, will compete only in doubles in Washington. The British player is partnering with doubles-specialist Polina Iatcenko, with the pair set to face top seeds Sara Errani and Nicole Melichar-Martinez in their opening match.
The return to competition comes after a difficult Wimbledon campaign for Boulter, who exited the singles draw in the first round against Tyra Grant. Her doubles partnership with Heather Watson also ended in the opening round.
Now reunited with the tour, Boulter and De Minaur begin a new phase of the season after a memorable personal milestone. Their focus shifts from Tuscany celebrations back to the hard courts, where both will look to regain rhythm ahead of the final Grand Slam of the year.
