WTA issues statement of appreciation to fans during COVID-19 pandemic

The WTA chairman and CEO Steve Simon penned a personal message to it's numerous fans as the world continues to battle the coronavirus outbreak.

With the WTA season suspended till June 7th, the future of the rest of the season is in jeopardy. In his letter, Simon urged the fans to remain safe and follow their recommended health organization guidelines.
The WTA chairman declared that their organization's priority was to ensure the safety of its players and fans. Tennis activities would resume only once they have been given the go-ahead to do so by the public health authorities.
He further went on to commend the WTA Players' Council members, including Madison Keys and Johanna Konta. They have been involved in discussions regarding the current state and future of the tour this season.
After thanking the staff and volunteers involved in all their WTA events, Simon ended his message by thanking the tennis community and fans. He encouraged everyone to stay safe and anticipated the tour returning to action in the near future.
