A mouth watering Last 16 tie has been set up at the China Open in Beijing with Mirra Andreeva set to face off against Elena Rybakina after winning shortly after each other.
Andreeva who prevailed through qualifying at the China Open has continued her superb from by taking down semi-finalist in Tokyo, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-2, 6-1.
Beginning the tie, Andreeva was utterly clinical with precise hitting and winning every crucial rally. She saved both break points she faced, while also converting on return resulting in 6-2.
Pavlyuchenkova didn't play as bad as the scoreline suggested, but she lost every crucial rally and things did not improve as she dropped her serve early handing the match to Andreeva on a plate.
Andreeva will now make her top 50 debut and will face one of the sports' top stars in Elena Rybakina who after recent illness issues has continued to produce some of her best tennis.
She crushed Tatjana Maria 7-5, 6-0. Producing 42 winners, 13 unforced errors and 87% first serve points won, it was very much Rybakina towards her best in Beijing. Now a top tie awaits which is bound to grip the tennis world.
