An unfortunate thing happened to
Petra Kvitova which forced her to withdraw from the 2021
Roland Garros.
The Czech player had a great run in 2020 reaching the semifinal and won a match in 2021 but disaster struck not long after. Kvitova announced on Tuesday afternoon that she is withdrawing from the 2021 Roland Garros after injuring her ankle. The injury did not come in the match but after the match when she fell.
Her statement on the matter reads:
It is with great disappointment that I announce my withdrawal from Roland Garros. During my post-match press requirements on Sunday, I fell and hurt my ankle. Unfortunately, after an MRI and much discussion with my team, I have made the tough decision that it would be unwise to play on it. It's incredibly bad luck, but I will stay strong and do my best to recover in time for the grass-court season."
