The stars of the WTA often only have a few events to prepare for the Wimbledon Championships, therefore it comes as no surprise that several will be participating at the 2024 Rothesay Nottingham Open. The British-based tournament is scheduled to run between June 10-26, 2024, and is one of the limited grass court events on tour.
A WTA 250 event, the Nottingham Open will feature several veterans and newcomers finalizing their preparation ahead of the only grass court Grand Slam of the season. It will feature a 32-woman singles field, as well as a 16-team doubles draw. It is a tournament ran by former British No.1 and now prominent commentator and pundit, Laura Robson. She has compiled the field for this year's tournament which has now been confirmed ahead of the mid-June start date.

Boulter to defend title, Jabeur leads the field

2023 champion Katie Boulter is hoping to lift the trophy for a second consecutive year, and the British star is sure to have the support of home fans. She is signed up for a multitude of tournaments during this year as her first season as the top British star. Tunisian star Ons Jabeur is the only top 10 player confirmed for the event thus far, and she will be joined by former Grand Slam champions Barbora Krejcikova and Sofia Kenin. Former World No.1 Karolina Pliskova is also scheduled to compete in Nottingham.
Originally an ATP only tournament, the grass court opener was discontinued in 2008. It was downgraded in 2011 to ATP Challenger which is its current status on the men's side with Andy Murray and Dan Evans among the leading lights who usually play the tournament. It returned to ATP 250 status in 2015 and 2016 before returning to Challenger status in 2017. Now it is solely held as a WTA 250 tournament and a Challenger event for the men as a precursor in the case of the WTA Tour for Wimbledon.

Ons Jabeur is among the favourites for Wimbledon and will kick start her campaign at the Nottingham Open.
Often hosting multiple top names in this case including Jabeur who are looking to head towards the grass court season. Especially the Tunisian who despite failing on two attempts prior will look to hoist the Wimbledon trophy aloft finally this summer. This is despite constant form woes and injury issues as of late.
