Daria Kasatkina has already turned the page on Wimbledon, but her next major moment will have nothing to do with tennis. After completing her campaign at the All England Club, the Australian star revealed that she is preparing for one of the most important moments of her year: her wedding with long-time partner Natalia Zabiiako.
In her latest vlog, Kasatkina gave fans a glimpse into her life after Wimbledon, revealing that she and Zabiiako stayed one extra day in London before travelling for their upcoming ceremony.
The former world No. 8 appeared excited about the next chapter, describing the wedding as something completely different from the pressure and routine of professional tennis. “Next stop for us is a very nice stop, our wedding with my Pookie! Can’t wait,” Kasatkina said in her vlog.
The 29-year-old previously revealed during Wimbledon that the celebration had been in preparation for around a year, with the couple planning an intimate seaside ceremony in Greece. Kasatkina proposed to Zabiiako in Rome, and the pair are expected to celebrate with around 40 guests in Athens, including some members of the tennis community.

Kasatkina looks ahead to wedding after year-long preparations

Speaking during Wimbledon, Kasatkina explained how much she was looking forward to stepping away from tennis and enjoying such a different experience after the Championships.
“I’ve got my wedding, our wedding. I’m really looking forward to it,” Kasatkina said at Wimbledon. “That’s great, though, isn’t it? You know, a break from tennis. Honestly, like, really looking forward to it, like something really, really different.”
The Australian star added that the couple had been working on the event for a long time and hoped their guests would enjoy the occasion. “We’re gonna have about 40 people at the wedding in Athens, we’ve been working on this for like a year. I hope guests are gonna like it; a few of them who are playing here will be coming along afterwards,” she said.
While the focus now shifts toward her personal life, Kasatkina leaves Wimbledon with positive memories after producing a strong run at the All England Club despite a difficult preparation on grass.

Kasatkina reflects on Wimbledon run and special All England Club atmosphere

Kasatkina entered Wimbledon without a victory on grass before the tournament but managed to reach the third round, overcoming a challenging build-up to the Grand Slam.
“I think it was a pretty good tournament. It’s not easy getting into the Slam without winning any match on the surface prior to that. I’m really happy about my effort and how I faced this situation,” Kasatkina said in her vlog.
The Australian defeated British wildcard Mingge Xu 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 in the opening round before beating Janice Tjen in a three-set battle, 6-7(7), 6-1, 6-4. Her run ended against 14th seed Naomi Osaka, who defeated her 6-1, 6-3.
Despite the defeat, Kasatkina highlighted one of the reasons Wimbledon remains unique for her: the atmosphere inside the tournament’s biggest stadiums. “My favourite thing about the Centre Court of Wimbledon and Court No. 1 is that while you're warming up, you can hear the crowd talking. You can hear the sound, but as soon as the chair umpire is saying, ‘Ready, play,’ it’s like pure silence,” she explained.
“All you can hear is the sound of the ball and the sound of the shoes walking on the grass. I think this is a really Wimbledon thing and it’s so good.”
Kasatkina also pointed out one of the small details that makes Wimbledon different from other tournaments. “Also on the stadiums you cannot hear champagne popping. You can only hear that on the outside courts, which I think makes it really special,” she added.
Her Wimbledon result helped Kasatkina improve her ranking from world No. 65 to No. 63, keeping her as the Australian No. 2 behind Talia Gibson (No. 58).
After her wedding celebrations, Kasatkina is expected to return during the North American hard-court swing. Her next confirmed tournament is the DC Open, followed by Toronto, Cincinnati and the US Open.
