Tennis fans are having a mixed reaction to seeing former world
number
Naomi Osaka returning to training so soon after becoming a mother.
There is a video surfaced on social media on Thursday where
Osaka can be seen training, just 15 days after giving birth to her first child.
That sparked a mixed reaction from fans as some believes it
was unhealthy whereas others believe that she must be doing it after getting a
green signal from her medical team.
Osaka has been pretty vocal about mental health in
particular and it is because of those reasons, she has taken an indefinite break from
professional tennis in the past.
The 25-year-old played her last match in September last year
and after that, she announced that she will be taking another break from tennis.
Later, it was revealed that this break is because of her getting pregnant.
Osaka broke onto the scene in 2018 when she lifted the US
Open title after beating crowd favourite legendary Serena Williams in straight
sets with a score of 6-2, 6-4.
She then went on to win the Australian Open in 2019 by beating
Czech Republic’s Petra Kvitova with a score of 7–6(7–2), 5–7, 6–4.
Her third title was once again in New York when she lifted the
US Open for the second time after getting the better of Belarus’ Victoria
Azarenka in the final with a score of 1–6, 6–3, 6–3.
Her last major triumph was back in 2021 when she defeated
America’s Jennifer Brady in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-4,
6-3.
