Amanda Anisimova will not play after all this week at the Singapore Tennis Open with the American deciding to withdraw despite being in the country training for her return to action.
Anisimova lost in the third round to Anastasia Potapova at the US Open after beating Lili Tagger and Ashlyn Krueger. But the American has struggled most of the year mostly with this wrist injury that has blighted her.
She previously lost to Jessica Pegula in the Quarter-Finals in Cincinnati and prior to that Elina Svitolina in the Last 16 in Canada. She was due to face Talia Gibson in the opening round of the Singapore Tennis Open.
The 25-year-old was even doing TikTok videos of how she was trying to beat jetlag while she was in Singapore and so was in the country ready so this is another blow for her in what has not been the best follow up season to her truly incredible 2025 breakout.

What Anisimova has said on withdrawing

She opened up on methods earlier in the season as to how she combats injury issues and how she has been managing to curve that. But she then withdrew from multiple tournaments on clay and has always been a bit of a suspect injury doubt ever since.
“Lately I’ve been using a hyperbaric chamber because it’s supposed to speed up the healing process. That’s been the only thing I’ve been able to do because I’m told to rest," she said to Elite Daily.
"I like to cool down straightaway. In the gym, I use a bike, do some stretching and breathing. Then I’ll always go in the ice bath to prevent any soreness. Most of the time it’s really hot, so that’s also a good way to cool down. Afterward I shower, eat, and do some treatment with my physical therapist. We always have to train or either play a match again the next day, so it’s quite back-to-back," the former world No. 3 explained.
