"I felt like my emotions got the better of me but I bounced back" Andreescu after fighting past Kvitova in Guadalajara

Bianca Andreescu was in trouble after the opening set against Kvitova but she rallied in superb fashion to oust Kvitova in Guadalajara.

Bianca Andreescu is having a rather strong finish to the year and it's exactly what she needs in order to prepare for a major comeback next year. She played another strong match in Guadalajara to move on to round three after beating Kvitova.

Speaking about the match, Andreescu noted how the first set kind of went by quickly:

"The first set kind of just went past me. [Kvitova] was hitting some very big shots, and her serve was very effective, and I felt like my emotions got the better of me as well towards the end of the first set. But I bounced back."

She added:

"I just wanted to make her play as much as I could, use my serve to my advantage, and just put pressure on her return, and I think I did that really well. And just fighting, competing really well."
