Dominic Thiem made a winning start at the Antwerp Open battling past Geerts rather easily in two simple sets 6-4 6-0.
The Austrian has been able to get some notable form in the past few weeks competing weekly in some indoor events. He's starting to look like a solid tennis player as he tries to ensure a top 100 finish at the end of the year which would be important for him.
This match was very similar to some of the matches he played leading up to this event. A bit of a slow start taking some time to find a good rhythm and once he finally found a good rhythm, Thiem was able to smash his opponent.
He served well and was almost unplayable on his own serve dropping only a handful of games and allowing no break points. The Austrian was excellent on return in the second set sa well giving his opponent a bagel as a parting gift.
