The ATP created a bit of a chaotic situation when the ynnounced at the
ATP Finals match will be pushed back by two hours.
The reason for the decision comes in hope of avoiding losing millions of viewers to the World Cup in Qatar. The football competition is set to kick off on the same day the ATP Finals conclude and the starting times of the final and opening match between Qatar and Ecuador.
A statemenet released read:
"We want to ensure that as many fans as possible around the world are able to tune into the final match of the ATP Tour season. By avoiding a clash with the opening of the FIFA World Cup, one of the biggest sporting events of the world, we are looking to reach the largest possible global audience for the Nitto ATP Finals."
The statement also addressed what many fans that already purchased tickets wanted to know and it whether those who now won't be able to make it would be refunded. It said:
"No, refunds will not be offered."
