A very crucial part of the season is coming with the North American hardcourt autumn swing. There will be several high profile events during that timespan with the most notable being the US Open. Before we head to Flushing Meadows we will have stops in Cincinnati and Montreal for two WTA 1000 Masters events. After the US Open, there will be the Indian Wells Masters as well.
Due to that schedule, several players defend a lot of points and stand with the most to lose in the upcoming several months. Chief among them is Bianca Andreescu who not only defends her US Open title points from 2019 but also her Indian Wells title points. The Canadian defends 82 % of her total points in the next time span.
Not far from Andreescu is Victoria Azarenka who defends 73 % of her total points in the next period. After that, we have Elina Svitolina with 69 % and Naomi Osaka with 63%. For Osaka, it's especially significant as the Japanese players only played tennis at the Olympics and immediately withdrew from the National Bank Open in Montreal.
Among players who have a lot to gain in the next few months are Coco Gauff who only defends 22 % of her points. Maria Sakkari also only defends 22 % of her point as well as Pegula with 19%, Muguruza with 17%, Badosa with 13% and Krejcikova with 4%. Check out the full list below.
