Welcome back to the semi-finals, @SabalenkaA 👏 The No.2 seed powerfully gets past Madison Keys in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4 #Wimbledon
Aryna Sabalenka will face the winner of the ongoing Ons Jabeur - Elena Rybakina match in the semi-finals of 2023 Wimbledon after taking down Madison Keys on Wednesday afternoon.
It was a 6-2, 6-4 win for the World No.2 who continues to go about her business over on Court One but will now get Centre Court billing after reaching the semi-final for the second time in her career.
Sabalenka eased through the opening set going 5-1 up, she suffered a service hold from Keys.
But had the opportunity to claim it 6-2 on her serve. She streaked to 30-0 with a blistering serve leaving Keys to only whip it out to the sidelines.
Sabalenka though didn't have a straight forward end to the set handing her opponent a route into the game as she struggled to return from Keys. But at deuce, she whipped out an ace.
Deuce though was forced two more time but Keys netted a point and this time Sabalenka took the advantage to full effect.
Keys took a break in set two to go 4-2 up but Sabalenka soon reversed it breaking straight back and held serve to make it 4-4. Again Keys lost it with a routine break for Sabalenka which nailed the coffin as she sealed the win from there on her own serve with relative ease.
A pivotal chance going knocking at 4-2 especially after going 40-0 up on her own serve for a route back into the game.
But it is Sabalenka who moves on into the semi-finals at SW19.
