Ashleigh Barty defeated Marie Bouzkova 6-0 4-6 6-3 to advance at the
Yarra Valley Classic and after the match, she broke it down for the media.
A furious start, a curious 2nd set and a solid third was the combination that granted Ashleigh Barty permission to advance to the next round of the Yarra Valley Classic, After the match speaking with the Media Barty broke it down by saying:
"It was a really solid match. I felt like in the middle of the match I just pressed a little bit, and lost my execution, but glad to find it in the end, and get another opportunity to play tomorrow."
For Barty getting consistent playing time is extremely important as this is her first event in over a year and getting in form prior to the Grand Slam is crucial.
She gave more insight into the match :
"[Bouzkova] makes a lot of returns and makes you work really hard in every single service game- So I’m trying to get a few cheapies when I can, and trying not to give away too many cheapies myself, that was probably the key. Happy to get it on my terms in the end."
Barty will take on Shelby Rogers in the next round early tomorrow morning.
