Novak Djokovic was deported from Australia last year and didn't take part in the event however according to Tiley he should be back next year.
While there hasn't been any official news, Djokovic is widely expected to play at the
Australian Open as there have been indicators suggesting that his visa will be reinstated. The most important thing is that the new government seems open to doing so unlike the previous one.
Now Tiley hinted at it during an interview by saying he expects all top players to play at the Australian Open:
“We are on track to have all the top players back. We are at a different point in time now than we were nine months ago
and I think it’s a very different environment with people travelling
freely around the world and we hope to have all the best players here in
January.”
Djokovic himself has put the mess behind him and would like to come back and play:
“I was deported from the country to which I would like to come back. I would love to come back to Australia. I love Australia, I had my best Grand Slam results in that country. Hopefully in January I can be there because I want to be there, and I
also want to be in New York. I want to be in America, I want to be
everywhere I can possibly play."
