Victoria Azarenka did not have a very good time on the court today as the Belarussian got smashed by Madison Keys while Jessica Pegula advanced.
Azarenka faced Madison Keys, a very streaky player who can play some incredible tennis on her day. Unfortunately for Azarenka today was one of those days and the American cruised. The match lasted only 59 minutes and saw Keys drop only three games in a 6-2 6-1 win. Everything worked for her. The serve was amazing, the groundstrokes were on fire and it was just a match where Azarenka simply could not do anything.
Jessica Pegula will join her compatriot Madison Keys in the next round as the American overcame a very slow start to defeat Ana Bogdan in two sets. She fell behind 0-3 to start to match but quickly found her rhythm and won five games in a row to take a 5-3 lead. From there it was a rather simple cruise towards the next round.
