Babos-Mladenovic end Gauff-McNally dream journey in Melbourne

Semifinal line-up in women's doubles was formed by two top-seeds and 4th seeded and 7th seeded pair as Mladenovic/Babos dumped out Gauff/McNally.

The second-seeded pair Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic defeated the American youngsters Coco Gauff and Caty McNally. "McCoco" were stunning during the tournament when they defeated Muchova/Teichmann, Peschke/Schuurs, Aoyama/Shibahara. However, the second-seeded couple was over their powers in Melbourne when they lost 2-6, 4-6.

In the semifinals, Babos & Mladenovic will meet Taiwanian duo, Chan & Chan. In the quarterfinals, they defeated 2019 US Open champions Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka 7-6(7), 6-2.

The other semifinal matchup will include 3 Czech players. First-seeded Hsieh & Strycova continue their stunning journey as a team when they defeated Brady & Dolehide 6-2, 6-2. They will meet all-Czech team Krejcikova & Siniakova who are 4th seeded at the Australian Open. In the quarterfinals they turned the match against Dabrowski & Ostapenko after losing first set 3-6 they added 6-2, 6-3 victories.
