Novak Djokovic stopped the 2020 Australian Open journey of Milos Raonic to set up a semifinal against Roger Federer.
Djokovic took advantage of his
improved service in the first set when he managed to win 89% of points after his first service.
Milos Raonic hit 5 aces, however, he hit also 4 doubles faults and faced up to 9 breakpoints. He did not manage to turn away the last and allowed Djokovic to win the first set 6-4.
The Serbian followed up on a good form also in the second set when he converted his 3rd breakpoint. He did not allow Raonic to have any in the second set and secure a 6-3 victory what gave him an important 2-0 lead.
In the third set, Raonic had an opportunity to break
Novak Djokovic but he did not use it again. The Serbian did not use his 4 chances and so the set was decided in a tie-break. Djokovic was almost flawless there when he lost only 1 point and won it 7-1 to book his semifinal spot.
